Softball Game Preview: JW North Huskies vs. Canyon Springs Cougars

The JW North Huskies will head out to take on the Canyon Springs Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. JW North will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

JW North had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 17-run drubbing they dealt Vista del Lago on Tuesday. The Huskies put the hurt on the Ravens with a sharp 18-1 victory. Considering the Huskies have won eight matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Canyon Springs fell victim to Arlington and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 13-0. The Cougars have struggled against the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

JW North has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Canyon Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5.

JW North came out on top in a nail-biter against Canyon Springs in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
