Softball Recap: Northside Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Northside and Lane Tech squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Northside had to settle for second. They lost 11-0 to the Champions. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Northside's loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Lane Tech, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.

Northside will take on Regina Dominican at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lane Tech, they will face off against Taft at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Champions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
