Soccer Recap: Flanagan Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Flanagan can now relate to. They came up short against the Cooper City Cowboys on Monday, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Cowboys are ranked 34th).

Flanagan moved to 11-7-1 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Cooper City, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-2-1.

Flanagan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cooper City, they will challenge St. Thomas Aquinas at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cooper City knows how to get goals on the board -- the team has finished with four goals or more in their past five games -- so hopefully St. Thomas Aquinas likes a good challenge.
