South Pointe waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They blew past the Richland Northeast Cavaliers 70-0. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Cavaliers are ranked 185th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Pointe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rasean Brown, who rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. Those 94 rushing yards gave Brown a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was R.J. Brown, who rushed for 50 yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: South Pointe was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 332 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 187 rushing yards in seven consecutive games.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for South Pointe, adding 19 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Malik Ratliff, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

South Pointe's win bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Richland Northeast, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

South Pointe didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-13 victory against Beaufort on the 7th. Richland Northeast does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
