Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Spartans vs. Winchester Thurston

St. Joseph is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will venture away from home to take on Winchester Thurston at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

St. Joseph can't be to happy about their upcoming road contest considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Wednesday. They came up short against Springdale, falling 11-1. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Meanwhile, Winchester Thurston lost 10-3 to Keystone Oaks on Thursday. The loss put an end to Winchester Thurston's undefeated start to the season.

Mason Witten made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Kaelin Leimer was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
