Basketball Preview: Friends Academy Quakers vs. North Shore Vikings

Friends Academy is 10-0 against the Vikings since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Friends Academy Quakers will head out on the road to take on the North Shore Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Friends Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 contests -- so hopefully the Vikings like a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Friends Academy didn't have too much trouble with the Mules at home as they won 61-45. Given Friends Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Mules are ranked 589th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jackson O'Brien continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Mckenzie was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, even though Lawrence scored an imposing 56 points on Monday, North Shore still came out on top. North Shore strolled past the Golden Tornadoes with points to spare, taking the game 71-56. North Shore's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Friends Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for North Shore, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Friends Academy took their victory against the Vikings when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 62-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Friends Academy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
