Basketball Game Preview: Palma Chieftains vs. Berkeley Yellowjackets

The Palma Chieftains will challenge the Berkeley Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Palma is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They managed a 52-47 win over San Mateo. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Chieftains were down 44-29 in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Berkeley had just enough and edged out Ripon Christian 64-61 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Yellowjackets.

Berkeley pushed their record up to 16-15 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points over those games. As for Palma, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.
