Volleyball Recap: Calvary Christian Comes Up Short

Calvary Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Ridgemont Golden Gophers.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Ridgemont scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-19.

Claire Heater paced Calvary Christian's offense, picking up four kills. Heater got some help from Ava Cole and her seven assists. Cole was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Calvary Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Ridgemont, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6.

Coincidentally, Calvary Christian and Ridgemont will both be playing Riverdale the next time they take the court. The Spartans will head out to face the Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Golden Gophers will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
