Recap: Yellville-Summit Panthers vs. Atkins Red Devils
The Yellville-Summit Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 48-40 to Atkins. Yellville-Summit was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Atkins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Jaden Martin was on fire for Atkins: he rushed for 270 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 16.9 yards per carry, and also threw for 51 yards and two touchdowns. Martin was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Dakota Hamm was in the mix as well, providing Atkins with two touchdowns.
Yellville-Summit's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5. As for Atkins, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-7.
Yellville-Summit will be playing in front of their home fans against Newport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Atkins will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Melbourne at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
