Van Vleck hadn't done well against Hitchcock recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Leopards were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bulldogs. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 3-1 win two weeks ago.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Van Vleck took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-6, 25-11, 25-11.

Van Vleck's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brilyn Maldonado, who had five aces and four digs. Maldonado has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Maldonado wasn't the only good servers: Van Vleck was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive contests.

Van Vleck has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-15 record this season. As for Hitchcock, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-19.
