Preview: Marshall Christian Academy Guardians vs. Avinger Indians
The Marshall Christian Academy Guardians will head out on the road to face off against the Avinger Indians at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Saturday, Marshall Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Providence Classical Academy and lost 41-25. While losing is never fun, Marshall Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 1005th in Texas, while Providence Classical Academy is ranked 145th in Louisiana).
Despite the defeat, Marshall Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: Melody Hester scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Avinger beat Bowie 44-38 last Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Avinger.
This is the second loss in a row for Marshall Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for Avinger, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Marshall Christian Academy ended up a good deal behind Avinger in their previous matchup back in December of 2017, losing 34-20. Can Marshall Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
