Volleyball Recap: Las Lomas' Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak at Home

Las Lomas managed to slip by College Park the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Knights lost 3-0 to the Falcons on Tuesday. Knights fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Falcons since on Tuesday.

Las Lomas was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-22.

Las Lomas' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tate Thompson, who had 23 assists. Thompson has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more assists the last 16 times he's played.

Leading College Park to victory were Jax Koepp and Diego Marquez. Koepp had four digs and three aces, while Marquez had 11 digs and two assists. That's the most digs Marquez has posted since back in March.

Las Lomas' loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-6. As for College Park, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Las Lomas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Amador Valley on the 16th. As for College Park, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Campolindo on the 17th.
