After both having extra time off, the Rock Canyon Jaguars and the Lutheran Lions will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Cherry Creek wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Rock Canyon, they should've done a better job of containing Elena Paz. The Jaguars walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Bruins on Friday for which the team can thank Paz, who had 12 digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 16-25, 25-19.
Meanwhile, Lutheran had already won ten in a row and they went ahead and made it 11 on Thursday. They came out on top against the Bears by a score of 3-1.
The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-13, 19-25, 25-13.
Rock Canyon better keep an eye on Madeline Miller. She was instrumental in Lutheran's win, getting 18 digs and nine assists. Those 18 digs gave Miller a new career-high.
Lutheran was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matches.
Rock Canyon's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Rock Canyon has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.8 aces per game. However, it's not like Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
