Baseball Recap: Meadowdale Triumphs

Meadowdale came out on top against Everett on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Mavericks walked away with a 9-6 win over the Seagulls. The Mavericks haven't had any issues with the Seagulls recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Kealoha Kepo'O-Sabate made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out 14 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off three hits. Meadowdale is 2-1 when Kepo'O-Sabate posts eight or more strikeouts, but 6-8 otherwise. Kepo'O-Sabate was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meadowdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meadowdale's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Everett, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Meadowdale will host Kamiak at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Everett, they will challenge Snohomish at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Seagulls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
