Basketball Recap: Aynor Comes Up Short

Aynor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were dealt an 89-34 defeat at the hands of the Georgetown Bulldogs. The Blue Jackets lost against the Bulldogs in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 61-51 score last time.

Aynor lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lucas Kamp, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Robinson Mendez, who earned six points and five rebounds.

It was another big night for Amos Jones, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine boards for Georgetown. Jones' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ean Mitchell, who scored 17 points and seven assists.

Aynor's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Georgetown, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.

While Aynor had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
