Volleyball Recap: Aurora Falls to Strongsville in First Game of Season

Aurora had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Strongsville Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Greenmen in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Aurora sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 23-25, 25-22.

When it comes to explaining why Aurora lost, don't look at Emerson Spiesz. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and four assists. Spiesz has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 23 times she's played.

Coincidentally, Aurora and Strongsville will both be playing Findlay the next time they take the court. The Greenmen will head out to face the Trojans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 12:00 p.m.
