Softball Game Preview: Catalina Foothills Falcons vs. Sahuaro Cougars

Catalina Foothills hasn't had much luck against Sahuaro recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Falcons will welcome the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Catalina Foothills is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They fell 8-5 to Rincon/University.

Elsie Weege was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Makena Thompson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Sahuaro's offense. They came up short against Walden Grove on Wednesday, falling 15-0. The defeat leaves the Cougars still looking for their first win of the season.

Catalina Foothills' loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Sahuaro, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Catalina Foothills took their win against Sahuaro in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
