Soccer Game Preview: Cate vs. Dunn

The Cate Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Dunn Earwigs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Cate will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Dunn better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Cate's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Cate really gets things going. The Rams put the hurt on Bishop Diego with a sharp 6-2 victory. George Marin was a massive factor in the win as he booted in four goals all by himself.

Cate's lineup was just a bit different on Thursday as Dimash Anuarbek got a bit more time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 51.4). Anuarbek made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal and 17 steals A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Dunn was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They fell just short of Foothill Tech by a score of 1-0.

Dunn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7-2. As for Cate, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.

Cate got the 'W' when the teams last played two weeks ago against Dunn by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
