Football Recap: Jonesboro Comes Up Short

Jonesboro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 67-54 to the Valor Preparatory Academy Knights. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Jonesboro's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Jonesboro will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lometa at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Valor Preparatory Academy, they will face off against San Marcos Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will be up against the Bears' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.83 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
