Georgia high school football: Week 5 schedule, scores

This week's high school football schedule in Georgia is headlined by Cedar Grove (Ellenwood) taking on Mill Creek (Hoschton) on Friday night.

Mill Creek is ranked No. 2 in the state with a 3-0 record and will host 2-2 Cedar Grove. Despite being unranked, the Saints led state No. 6 Westlake (Atlanta) 41-40 on Sept. 1 before falling 46-41.

Cedar Grove has a powerful offense that averages 38.5 points per game led by junior Central Florida quarterback commit E.J. Colson, sophomore Florida State wide receiver commit Devin Carter and junior running back Bo Walker, who has offers from Arkansas and Ole Miss.

The senior-heavy Mill Creek defense is one of the best in the state, allowing just 10.3 points per contest. Lining up as the edge rushers are four-star KingJoseph Edwards and Notre Dame commit Cole Mullins. In the secondary the Hawks are led by North Carolina commit Jaiden Patterson, Georgia Tech commit Trajen Greco and Western Kentucky commit Justin Content.



Buford, the top team in the state and No. 7 squad in the nation will host Carver (Atlanta). Led by the nation’s top player, Dylan Raiola, Buford is 3-0 and is coming off a bye week after winning 45-28 at North Cobb on Sept. 1.

State No. 6 Westlake (Atlanta) will take its undefeated 4-0 record on the road to Newton (Covington), which is also 4-0. Newton has allowed just 14 points this season and have shut out two opponents.
