Baseball Recap: Flintridge Prep Gets the Win

Flintridge Prep came out on top against Franklin on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Wolves never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 6-0 win. The Wolves not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 6th (when they won 12-2).

The result came thanks to Lucas Yin's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. Flintridge Prep is 2-1 when Yin allows two or fewer hits, but 4-5 otherwise.

At the plate, Flintridge Prep let Nicholas Aparicio and Nathan Sanok run wild. Aparicio went 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Sanok went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Sanok a new career-high. Spencer Rolfe was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run.

The victory got Flintridge Prep back to even at 6-6. As for Franklin, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Flintridge Prep will face off against Oakwood at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Franklin, they will square off against Eagle Rock at 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
