Football Game Preview: Lake Charles College Prep Trailblazers vs. Leesville Wampus Cats + Official Tickets

The Lake Charles College Prep Trailblazers will challenge the Leesville Wampus Cats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a five-game winning streak alive.

Two weeks ago, everything came up roses for Lake Charles College Prep against South Beauregard as the team secured a 66-15 win. That 51 point margin sets a new team best for the Trailblazers this season.

Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Leesville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 52-7 victory over Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy. Considering the Wampus Cats have won four contests by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leesville's win came from a few key players Lake Charles College Prep will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Trel Broom, who threw for 202 yards and four TDs while completing 85.7% of his passes. He has become a key player for Leesville: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Davis Jr, who picked up 91 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Lake Charles College Prep's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Leesville, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Things could have been worse for Lake Charles College Prep, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 54-40 loss to Leesville when the teams last played back in September of 2019.
