Basketball Game Preview: Thomson Bulldogs vs. Laney Wildcats

The Thomson Bulldogs will take on the Laney Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Thomson has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Laney will arrive with five straight victories.

On Friday, Thomson was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to Warren County.

Meanwhile, Laney humbled Josey with a 62-33 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Laney is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. As for Thomson, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-6.

Thomson didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Laney in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 63-57 win. Will Thomson repeat their success, or does Laney have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
