Basketball Recap: Beatrice Takes a Loss

Beatrice lost against Wahoo back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Beatrice Orangemen had to suffer through a 79-41 loss at the hands of the Wahoo Warriors. The Orangemen's loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

It was another big night for Dylan Simons, who went 9 of 10 en route to 20 points along with six boards and four steals for Wahoo. The game was Simons' eighth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Cody Hesser, who posted eight points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

Beatrice's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Wahoo, their win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beatrice will face off against Lincoln Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wahoo, they will take on Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wayne is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
