Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Christian School Crusaders vs. Davenport Gorillas

The Northwest Christian School Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Davenport Gorillas at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Davenport is hoping to do what St. George's couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Northwest Christian School's winning streak, which now stands at six games. Northwest Christian School blew past St. George's 72-31. The Crusaders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Davenport against Newport on Tuesday as the team secured a 58-25 win. Given the Gorillas' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Davenport pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Northwest Christian School, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Northwest Christian School beat Davenport 59-49 in their previous matchup last Tuesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwest Christian School since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
