Recap: Odessa Tigers vs. Curlew Cougars

After a string of five wins, the Odessa Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Curlew. Odessa was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Curlew apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Odessa's loss came despite strong showings from Hayden Schuh and Melloney Deife. Schuh dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Deife scored 12 points along with two steals. Deife is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Odessa struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Curlew pulled down 24 offensive rebounds.

Curlew was led to victory by Annika Baker and Emma Lena Baker. Baker dropped a double-double on 11 points and 20 rebounds, while Baker dropped a double-double on 32 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season.

Odessa's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Curlew, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-2.

Odessa does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Curlew also has no future games currently scheduled.
