Baseball Game Preview: Westbrook Blue Blazes vs. Scarborough Red Storm

Westbrook is 1-9 against Scarborough since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Blue Blazes will be playing at home against the Red Storm at 11:00 a.m.

Westbrook is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Thursday. They lost 8-0 to South Portland.

Meanwhile, Scarborough put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Noble get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering the Red Storm have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryan Shugars made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since May 1st. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Scarborough got a big performance out of Matthew Fallona, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Kayson Cyr was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Scarborough pushed their record up to 13-0 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Westbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-12.
