Soccer Game Preview: Draughn vs. NCSSM: Morganton

The Draughn Wildcats will square off against the NCSSM: Morganton Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Draughn: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while NCSSM: Morganton has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.

Draughn is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to nine goals on Monday, they were much more limited against Madison on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 1-0.

Meanwhile, NCSSM: Morganton was able to grind out a solid win over Owen on Wednesday, taking the game 3-1. NCSSM: Morganton better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Colette Stokas, as she scored every single goal for her team.

Draughn's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for NCSSM: Morganton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1-1.

Draughn came up short against NCSSM: Morganton when the teams last played back in April of 2024, falling 3-1. Can Draughn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
