Basketball Recap: Sacramento Country Day Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pine Hills Adventist last Tuesday, Sacramento Country Day came back down to earth. The Sacramento Country Day Cavaliers fell 53-41 to the Aspire Alexander Twilight Secondary Academy Lions on Thursday. The Cavaliers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

Despite the loss, Sacramento Country Day saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ryan Scripps dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Scripps has been hot, having also posted three or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Justin Lawson, who posted seven points and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sacramento Country Day fell to 2-1. As for Aspire Alexander Twilight Secondary Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Sacramento Country Day didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-43 victory against Pine Hills Adventist on the 9th. As for Aspire Alexander Twilight Secondary Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-36 win against Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning on the 10th.
