Basketball Recap: Newman Takes a Loss

Newman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 63-49 to the Wabeno/Laona Rebels. If the Fighting Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 70-60 to the Rebels when the teams met back in February of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Newman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Wabeno/Laona, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-11.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Wabeno/Laona beat Newman by a score of 63-49 on Tuesday.
