Baseball Recap: Walther Christian Academy Takes a Loss

If Walther Christian Academy was feeling good fresh off their 12-3 takedown of Schaumburg Christian last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Broncos came up short against the Westmont Sentinels on Tuesday, falling 17-2. The Broncos have struggled against the Sentinels recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Walther Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Westmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7-1 record this season.

Walther Christian Academy will square off against Cristo Rey Jesuit at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cristeros have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.38 runs per game on average), something the Broncos will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Westmont, they will face off against Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Sentinels surely won't give up without a fight.
