Softball Recap: Smoky Valley Wins Going Away Against Nickerson

Smoky Valley never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Nickerson on Monday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 14-1 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Vikings' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The team relied heavily on Rylie Tolle, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kenzley Haxton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Smoky Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nickerson only posted an OBP of .391.
