Baseball Recap: Three Rivers Comes Up Short

Three Rivers dropped their record down to 19-12 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Kalamazoo Central Maroon Giants by a score of 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since April 29, 2024.

Three Rivers saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Hradsky, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

As for Kalamazoo Central, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-21. Four seems to be a good number for they as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

On Kalamazoo Central's side, Mason Hoenle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Adrian Vanderluen, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dewey Young, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one double.

While Three Rivers had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
