Basketball Game Preview: Middletown Middies vs. Oak Hills Highlanders

The Middletown Middies will head out to face off against the Oak Hills Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Middletown is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.

Last Friday, Middletown strolled past Hamilton with points to spare, taking the game 61-43. Given the Middies' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Big Blue are ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Oak Hills came up short against Elder on Tuesday and fell 46-33. The Highlanders have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Middletown pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.6 points. As for Oak Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Middletown didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Oak Hills in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Middletown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
