Soccer Game Preview: Spartanburg Day vs. Hilton Head Prep

The Spartanburg Day Griffins will head out on the road to take on the Hilton Head Prep Dolphins at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Spartanburg Day is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Griffins who were credited with the win. Spartanburg Day got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Pee Dee Academy's four.

Reese Cook and Matty Lyle scored both of the Griffins' goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Hilton Head Prep took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They put the hurt on Thomas Sumter Academy with a sharp 10-0 victory. Considering Hilton Head Prep have won 11 games by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Hilton Head Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 47 goals over those eight matchups. As for Spartanburg Day, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
