Basketball Recap: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Paxton-Buckley-Loda last Tuesday, Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley came back down to earth. The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Falcons fell 52-45 to the Eureka Hornets on Thursday. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3. As for Eureka, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

When Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley and Eureka next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley will try to stop Iroquois West's three-game winning streak when the meet at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Similarly, Eureka will square off against LeRoy and their three-game winning streak at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
