River Valley and Yuba City are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. River Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Yuba City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games River Valley has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

River Valley is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Roseville just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since April 30, 2024.

Apple Ward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, River Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexis Otero, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Yuba City entered their tilt with Twelve Bridges on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Raging Rhinos.

The team relied heavily on Chloe Gonzales, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alexia Alvarez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Yuba City's victory bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for River Valley, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-2.
