Basketball Recap: Pantego Christian Skates Past Shelton with Ease

Pantego Christian had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 43.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Shelton Chargers 92-55. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season.

Tristan Brown was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Stone Thiel, who went 8 of 11 on his way to 20 points.

Pantego Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.5% in those games and 0% outside of them. As for Shelton, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-6.

As for Shelton, they will face off against Trinity Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity Christian will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Shelton surely won't give up without a fight.
