Softball Recap: Immaculata's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Immaculata walked away with it. They put the hurt on the St. Rose Purple Roses with a sharp 11-3 win on Wednesday. Considering the Spartans have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maddie Falvey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Heather Ryden was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mollie Ferreira, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

The victory (which was Immaculata's sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Rose, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.

Coming up, Immaculata will face off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 3.8, the Trojans 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. St. Rose does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
