Soccer Game Preview: Monsignor Pace vs. Goleman

The Monsignor Pace Spartans will head out to challenge the Goleman Gators at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Monsignor Pace took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They blew past Archbishop Carroll 6-1. Considering the Spartans' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Goleman kept a clean sheet against North Miami on Monday. They put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 4-0 victory. The Gators might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by four goals or more this season.

They hit North Miami with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Francesca Careaga (2), Fiorella Careaga, and Kiersten Giraldo.

Goleman has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Monsignor Pace, their win bumped their record up to 2-8.

Monsignor Pace suffered a grim 7-3 defeat to Goleman in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can Monsignor Pace avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
