Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Eustis walked away with it. They put the hurt on The Villages Charter Buffalo with a sharp 12-1 victory on Thursday. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won eight matches in a row.
Eustis got a great performance from Carson Roden as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Roden has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Emmy Luke was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last four times she's played. Adrianna Covino was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Eustis was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Villages Charter only posted a batting average of .105.
Eustis' record is now 19-4. As for The Villages Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.
As of now, neither Eustis nor the Buffalo have any future games scheduled.
