Basketball Recap: Steele Comes Up Short

Steele lost against Olmsted Falls back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Steele Comets had to suffer through a 67-12 loss at the hands of the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 32nd).

This is the second loss in a row for Steele and nudges their season record down to 4-16. As for Olmsted Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Steele will be playing in front of their home fans against Elyria at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Steele is facing Elyria at the right time seeing as Elyria is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Olmsted Falls, they will head out on the road to challenge Avon Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Olmsted Falls is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
