Softball Recap: Panguitch Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Panguitch won against Water Canyon on Monday with 21 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Panguitch put the hurt on Water Canyon with a sharp 21-6 win. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Hailee Yadley was a standout: she scored three runs and stole four bases while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Jessop, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple.

Panguitch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .381 or higher in eight consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Panguitch pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.8 runs over those games. As for Water Canyon, they are on a 27-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Panguitch will welcome Monticello at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Water Canyon, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Millard at 3:30 p.m. Millard has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.29 runs per game on average), something Water Canyon will no doubt try to take advantage of.
