Baseball Game Preview: Cedaredge Bruins vs. Roaring Fork Rams

The Cedaredge Bruins will challenge the Roaring Fork Rams at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedaredge will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak.

On Friday, Cedaredge made easy work of Sargent and carried off a 13-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bruins, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Tel Geyer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Dane Brown was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base. Makai Salazar was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Cedaredge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Roaring Fork, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Basalt by a score of 4-1 on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Cedaredge pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Roaring Fork, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 4-10.

Cedaredge came up short against Roaring Fork when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 9-6. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
