Soccer Recap: Menlo-Atherton's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Wednesday

Menlo-Atherton kept a clean sheet against Carlmont on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Carlmont Scots. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Scots are ranked 335th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ayden Wise and Nathan Thurlow scored both of Menlo-Atherton's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Menlo-Atherton's win bumped their record up to 9-0-3. As for Carlmont, they moved to 5-5-1 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Menlo-Atherton will be playing at home against Aragon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Menlo-Atherton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season. Carlmont has already played their next matchup (against South San Francisco), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
