Softball Recap: Cincinnatus Central Extends Winning Streak to Six

Cincinnatus Central entered their tilt with Spencer-Van Etten on Thursday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 8-3.

Payton Gerrard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lucy Finch was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Addi Stith was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Cincinnatus Central pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Spencer-Van Etten, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Looking ahead, Cincinnatus Central will be playing at home against McGraw at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Spencer-Van Etten does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
