Softball Recap: Effingham Flaming Hearts vs. Teutopolis Wooden Shoes
Teutopolis typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Effingham proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Wooden Shoes. The victory continues a trend for the Flaming Hearts in their matchups with the Wooden Shoes: they've now won three in a row.

Layla McBride spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
