Basketball Recap: Flint Academy Comes Up Short

Flint Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 40-17 to the Clariden Cougars. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 37-17 last Monday.

Leading Clariden to victory were Harry Disley and Sam Clowe. Disley posted 16 points, while Clowe had 16 points. Disley is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

Flint Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Clariden, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Flint Academy and Faustina Academy will shake off the cobwebs and square off against one another at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025. As for Clariden, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Dallas Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 21, 2025.
