Baseball Recap: Libertyville Extends Winning Streak to Four

Libertyville put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Lake Oswego Lakers as Libertyville made off with a 14-1 win. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Charlie Gretz looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Quinn Schambow was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Lockwood, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Libertyville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Libertyville's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Lake Oswego, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Libertyville will head out on the road to square off against Valley Vista at 9:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Lake Oswego, they will square off against Jesuit at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
