Basketball Recap: Belle Fourche Broncs vs. Wall Eagles
The Belle Fourche Broncs were the 49-47 winner over the Wall Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Belle Fourche was dealt a 80-45 loss at the hands of the Eagles on Tuesday. Belle Fourche found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post 19 fewer assists than your opponent.
Jet Jensen and Carter McKenna certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jensen scored 24 points, while McKenna scored five points along with two blocks. McKenna continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Nolan Wahlfeldt was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Teelan Kjerstad continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wall, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kjerstad has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brodi Sundall, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.
Belle Fourche has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for Wall, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belle Fourche will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on February 1st. Mobridge-Pollock knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully the Broncs like a good challenge. As for Wall, they will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. White River is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
